Sorry about that...

I wanted to brighten everyone's day. This is what happens when I get bored at work :)

I know I have been a stranger to the blogger world for a few months but no worries IM BACK! Sorry I have been away but I have been super busy with work and having a good summer. I decided back a before summer started that I was going to have a fantastic summer since this is my last college summer and could possibly be my last summer to do what I want.  So far I have been having a blast and cant wait to see what else is in store.
As far as the festivities go, I enjoyed a nice vacation at Isle of Palms (my FAV place ever) with my family. There are things in your life that you are so thankful God blessed you with and that would be my family. None of them read this blog but I wanted to tell everyone how special these 5 girls are to me and how much I love them. I absolutely adore my five step-sisters,  their precious beautiful children and I guess they married some great men. (hahaha) It's not only the sisters I adore, I am so glad they have goofy, great husbands that accepted Dusty like they have known him for years, Such a great feeling to know they truly love and get along so well with their future brother in law.  It's a great feeling to sit back, talk with my sisters, and watch the "guys" get along so well. As far as the beach trip, we had a BLAST...who wouldn't have a blast in a 6 bedroom house with 13 adults, 7 kids, and 3 dogs- Even though it sounds packed it was so much FUN and we can't wait to do it again. During the week, we the GIRLS tanned, the guys went deep sea fishing (well their stories is they HATED it because they guy that took them had no clue what he was doing, long story bahahahahaha), the girls got feathers, went to the aquarium, spent a day downtown, ate way too much, drank way too much, and played cornhole from sun up to sundown and then got fussed at by the neighbors. What a week we had, definitely one to put down in the books. It was so much fun that the day we were leaving I looked over to find my Chloe crying. I asked her why she was crying and she said, "I just don't to go home, I want to stay at the beach forever because I love my family." HOW FREAKING SWEET, I started to tear up. We had such a blast that we are already planning another trip next summer.
Pictures to sum up the week...more to come but this is all I could grab off Facebook this morning. Hope you enjoy as much as we did looking back through the pictures :)

Besides the beach trip, I have been busy working EXPO, freshmen orientation. This was my second year working EXPO and I had a BLAST. I have grown very fond of my fellow workers and formed great friendships. Most of the time I just wanted to crawl back into bed but we still had fun. Most of the days consisted of taking freshmen to info sessions and entertaining them with ice breakers. The ice breakers were so much fun and they only got more fun when groups combined together. I would have to say the "winds are blowing" or question game was the biggest hit among the ice breakers. In these games you can learn a lot about someone but most of the time everybody was too busy laughing. As sad it is to say, this was my last summer working EXPO.

Ahhhh Yea!

This is what I look like during the summer or at least I feel like I am like this because I am usually reading a book or magazine and ignoring everything around me.

This past weekend was absolutely FABULOUS!!! I was able to do what I love most: read and layout in the sun. Nothing  beats laying out in the HOT HOT HOT South Carolina Sun/Heat while nose diving into a great read. Who doesn't like to do that? Its so relaxing. With that said I finally purchased the book that follows Something Borrowed, Something Blue. It is novel on Darcy's point of view and how things played out. I cuddled up last night in the pappazon to finish the book and cried like a baby. Even if you strongly dislike Darcy in Something Borrowed, I would recommend reading this book. If you have read it or plan on reading it let me know what you think about it?!?!!?

Anywho, I was able to layout Friday, Saturday and Sunday :) How often does this happen??? My answer is ........... NOT ENOUGH! I wish I would make money and layout all the time. Who doesnt want to be a lazy bum, read good books, get a tan, AND still make money. On Saturday, my dad even grilled steaks for the family....YUMMMMMMMY!!! What makes the weekend even better is that Im going to Charleston on Thursday. I love love love Charleston. I am trying to convince Dusty in letting us move down there. :) But yall know how guys are, so I guess I will have to keep trying. :)
This week try to enjoy the Sun and find a good book to read. Have a wonderful Monday and try to stay warm, especially if you are in South Carolina. :)

SIDE NOTE:(My sister tells me I am a nerd because I like to tan and read. Just because she is in High School she   thinks she is "too cool" to read especially while laying out in the sun. So what I dont care.....It's just nice to get lost in a good book. Have a wonderful Monday and try to stay warm, especially if you are in South Carolina. :)

This one or that one?

So I need some help. My sister is graduating High School (wow, she is still supposed to be a baby) and I have the "honors" of designing her graduation party invitations.  YIPPEEEEE!!!! Being the creative on in the family, I was really told to design them so of course I accepted since I have nothing better to do. She did not give me any guidelines expect to "make them pretty". I told her that I would give her a few  options to choose from and here they are [hope you like and she does too :/]....which one is your favorite?

Have a fabulous Monday (night) :)

DIY Night Lights!

I love crafty things and plus I was on the broke side during christmas and discovered a DIY project to give as gifts. I didnt make one for myself but one day I am going too.  If you by chance have some extra wine bottles laying around the house then try this nifty project out! I made these crafty night lights for my dad and step-sisters for christmas and boy were they a big hit. My stepmom added to hers and but some decor in them like the tall things you put in the vase in a corner or something (I had a brain fart and couldnt think of what they are called). :(

what you need:
1 wine bottle (green or clear, I used green)
1 strand of 12ft christmas lights (clear)
3 ribbons (what ever design you want)

Instructions:
I wrote the initial on mine first or you can put whatever on yours such as just leaving the label on it.
stuff the lights down in the bottle
tie ribbon around neck of bottle

These are super easy to make and a great gift to give. They are cheap to make but look like an expensive gift and something that looks like it took a long time to make. Have fun being crafty and let me know how they work out for yall or if you have any ideas!

I love crafty ideas and trying new things especially when Im bored and have nothing to do at home. If any of you have sny ideas or DIY projects I could attempt, then let me know! :)

XOXO,
Kendall

What a Day

Today was an interesting day because I got to hang with the most amazing lady ever, my Memaw! She is such a wonderful little lady, literally! If I could choose anybody to be my role model she def tops the list. I am for sure a Memaw's girl and I love every minute of it.

told you she was a little lady!

The day started out by leaving Miley and Hank at my daddy's house. As I was walking out the door, Miley plopped to the floor and began to look at me with sad sad puppy eyes. It broke my heart but I explained to her that I was late to the dentist. While at the dentist I got told that I was a gorgeous little girl. That comment made me feel like I was 2 but Hey I will take it :). I also learned that I have to have two wisdom teeth taken out...YIKES!!!! Then I wondered to the Eye doctor where I got my eyes Dilated....WEIRD. It was like I started out crying then I could see then all of a sudden everything was blurry. It was like being drunk without all the side effects, ha ha ha ha. The funniest part of the day was that the nurse asked me if I drank and Memaw being a sweet lil lady said yea she does, we just drank some tea at Zaxbys. Bless her heart, that made my day. But Im still worried about getting my wisdom teeth out...I hate surgery!
Now I'm going to worry about getting my Wisdom Teeth out!
Dusty told me that he cant wait to see how I feel because people tell him
it feels like you have been hit by a truck. Great boyfriend, huh????

So now as I sit in the apt snuggling up with Hankie Pankie thinking about my day, I would not have changed anything about today! Have a great rest of this cold Hump Day!
