My Weekend

First off, Sorry that I have not posted anything in almost a week. I have been trying to get on the blogger website and it would not let me on. It was doing some crazy things so I just did not mess with it anymore.

This weekend I decided to get away and take mini vacation. I rarely do things for myself but this time I decided what the heck, I need a break too. As much as I miss Dusty and my four-legged babies, Miley and Hank, I am having enjoying soaking up the sun and enjoying some adult beverages. On Thursday, I woke up bright and early to come visit my friend Brittany in Mount Pleasant which is 5-10 minutes away from Charleston and 5-10 minutes away from IOP. So yea, we have to best of both worlds for the weekend. During the day we soak up the rays (the rays won yesterday :( ) and at night we explore Charleston. I do have to tell you, it is DEAD now that CofC, College of Charleston, is out for the summer. We have been out every night and by 1:30 am most bars are empty. I mean I understand that the bars close at 2 but gahleeee. Besides that I have really enjoyed myself. I told Brittany that I wanted to try things that I havent had before down here. That is kind of hard considering I come down here ALOT during the summer and considering moving down here. So here are some pictures to describe my weekend. It's so nice to enjoy all these things but I really miss Dusty and my Miley bug and Hankie.  Cant wait to reunite with them on Tuesday :). I hope everyone has a fabulous Memorial Day and stay safe!

Ahhhh Yea!

This is what I look like during the summer or at least I feel like I am like this because I am usually reading a book or magazine and ignoring everything around me.

This past weekend was absolutely FABULOUS!!! I was able to do what I love most: read and layout in the sun. Nothing  beats laying out in the HOT HOT HOT South Carolina Sun/Heat while nose diving into a great read. Who doesn't like to do that? Its so relaxing. With that said I finally purchased the book that follows Something Borrowed, Something Blue. It is novel on Darcy's point of view and how things played out. I cuddled up last night in the pappazon to finish the book and cried like a baby. Even if you strongly dislike Darcy in Something Borrowed, I would recommend reading this book. If you have read it or plan on reading it let me know what you think about it?!?!!?

Anywho, I was able to layout Friday, Saturday and Sunday :) How often does this happen??? My answer is ........... NOT ENOUGH! I wish I would make money and layout all the time. Who doesnt want to be a lazy bum, read good books, get a tan, AND still make money. On Saturday, my dad even grilled steaks for the family....YUMMMMMMMY!!! What makes the weekend even better is that Im going to Charleston on Thursday. I love love love Charleston. I am trying to convince Dusty in letting us move down there. :) But yall know how guys are, so I guess I will have to keep trying. :)
This week try to enjoy the Sun and find a good book to read. Have a wonderful Monday and try to stay warm, especially if you are in South Carolina. :)

              SIDE NOTE:(My sister tells me I am a nerd because I like to tan and read. Just because she is in High School she   thinks she is "too cool" to read especially while laying out in the sun. So what I dont care.....It's just nice to get lost in a good book. Have a wonderful Monday and try to stay warm, especially if you are in South Carolina. :)

Talk about

...a good pick me up. While on Facebook last night and this morning, I discovered this video. I laughed so hard this morning, I woke up Dusty and forced him to watch it. It just amazes me how bored people can get, but what can I say I went through the same things when I played softball. Let's just say rain delays SUCK!!!

Out of the Ordinary

This past weekend was CRAZY!!!! I have been napping all day to make up for sleep I lost and relaxing on the couch trying to re-coop and recover.

Im pretty sure we were the best fans yet, ha ha. We danced the night away, even when were imitating how other girls were dancing :)

It all started friday night when Mandy and I ventured into Greenville to check out The Best Damn Country Tour. The show was AMAZING and the guys were even better ;). I am at the point where I can only look so thank God I had Mandy....nah JUST KIDDING. We both thought that these guys were very talented and their looks just added to the good music.

To make a long story short, I had met a friend from freshmen year of college and he OK MANDY got us on the bus to hang with them afterwards. I thought these guys were real cool to hang with and that's as far as I'm going, we are on strict confidentiality ha ha. I think I fell in love when we listened to Katy Perry and all the guys started singing. Yep, that was it :)The night was so great and we were having so much fun that we did not leave to EARLY in the morning, when the sun was rising. Secretly that was our goal from the get go. ha. We were having to great of a time to just up and leave even though the guys were dropping like flies and sneaking off to the back to sleep. Needless to say, I had a great night.

As far a Saturday, Dusty and my daddy (Dusty's Idol) went fishing. Dusty works second shift on Friday nights so he decided to go have a couple of drinks with some buddies and just not go to sleep since they were hitting the lake at 5 am. My dad's motto is "Early to Bed, Early to rise, Fish all day, make up lies", okay the the last part isn't true but they will NOT tell you what happened on the boat besides fish stories. anywho, as soon as they got back to the house, both of them were down for the count. Daddy on the couch and Dusty, well, he actually made it to the back bedroom. Finally, after a couple of hours, I decided to go wake Dusty up so we could have dinner and drinks with some friends. We decided to hit up Wild Wings. Who could pass down Wings and Beer?....Not us. Supper was going great and we were having some good laughs and Dusty gets the bright idea to order 2 shots of 3 wizemen. If you do not know what it is or have not ever tried it then DO NOT try it. Just a warning. Dusty, bless his heart, HATES tequila. He just cannot handle it. Well we all took the shot and then next then we know dusty is gagging. Not to be gross but it was the funniest thing since my 21st birthday. That was the highlight of the night. The guys then decided to go back the the friends house and play some cornhole. We had a blast. This picture sums up our night.....

yes, that's what it looks like. Dusty is letting Hank enjoy a "nice cold beer" as Dusty would put it.  Hank loved beer and the boys had to watch their cups because if they were sat down then Hank was sticking his nose in it.

WELLLLLLL, there was no date night tuesday with Dusty but I did have a date night with Mandy over at MissMandyMac. We were at work and just decided to take a trip to Anderson to look at shoes for my Bridesmaids.

Mandy tried them on first and they were precious but I was concerned with the buckle and well their height.....Oh yea, I walked around the entire store with them on and they are COMFORTABLE. :) sorry about this being so late but my blogger homepage has been messed up for a couple of days.

Sometimes it is very hard to face reality but this afternoon I faced adversity. I have a wonderful stepmom but we do have a rocky relationship and history. I will be the first to admit that I DID NOT like her when I first met her because she stole my Daddy away from me, I was daddy's girl :). Recently, I have been spending a lot of  time with her and getting to know her better. She has one of the biggest hearts of any person I know. Since she loves to work in her backyard and plant flowers I decided to get her a mothers day present, Lillys. They were absolutely georgus. Im not sure of the actual name of them but they were soooooooo precious. I was going to get her a card to go with it but I wanted to tell her in person how much she means to me. As I was giving her her flowers I told her that I am glad my daddy found such an amazing lady as her and I am glad to have her as my stepmom and that I along with Dusty love her very much. I did this and choked up and started tearing up. Just something simple that really meant a lot for the both of us. Have you faced reality and overcame adversity lately?
I love my mama tooo, I got her the new scent from BBW, Island Margarita candle and a cute candle holder. I cant wait to go home and smell it.

Sorry I have been glued to my computer all day checking out this LOVELY/ CRAFTY blog. I am addicted to crafts, in my spare time I like to venture into the craft world. I have been absolutely taken away with this blog, its WONDERFUL. Go check it out and let me know what you think :)Shes {kinda} Crafty. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Cinco de Mayo! oh yea, Im working on a project again, the night light wine bottles. Its a wedding gift for a dear friend of mine. This is what I had made for my dad and stepmom for christmas but the one I am making now resembles this one.

Hot Date Night

So I got good news about  week ago. Since Dusty is now working Sundays, his work has decided to make Sundays like Mondays meaning he would have to choose a day to be off during the week. They went by seniority and well Dusty was just added onto the Process Tech crew.  He ended up getting Tuesdays, which Im okay with BUT Tuesdays are one of my days to work. So we decided that we would declare Tuesday as date night since we never date anymore.

Last night we had our first date night. It all started with us going to look into this house that we both LOVED. Well things did not work out with the house: 1. the lady raised the price on it from $135000 to $179000 (Hell no....cant do that) and 2. its under contract and about to go through so we just gave up. We were both super bummed but it just wasnt meant for us to be in that house. So now we are at the beginning. Ahhh, house buying is so stressful, I wish I could just make a wish and BAM....Im in the house I want. ha ha...Anywho back to date night, so after our devastating news Dusty and I went to see a movie (first movie in years). We went and watch Fast Five, the fifth fast and furious. Let's just say its sooooo gooood, but I am biased because I LOVE the Fast and Furious movies. After the movies we went to Target (my favorite place to shop) then we headed back to the apt. For dinner we decided on steaks, spicy steaks at that. There is nothing like cooking with the person I love. We had a blast cooking (me) and grilling (dusty). Finally we sat down at the table and enjoyed supper.........

This one or that one?

So I need some help. My sister is graduating High School (wow, she is still supposed to be a baby) and I have the "honors" of designing her graduation party invitations.  YIPPEEEEE!!!! Being the creative on in the family, I was really told to design them so of course I accepted since I have nothing better to do. She did not give me any guidelines expect to "make them pretty". I told her that I would give her a few  options to choose from and here they are [hope you like and she does too :/]....which one is your favorite?
